Itinerary

Day 1

Start your journey by exploring the village of Tourtuguero, learn about the culture and the natural history of the rich biodiversity and stunning scenery that surrounds you.
Then later this afternoon you will get your adventure outfit and get ready for your first kayaking introduction, paddling around the main lagoon and start looking out for some of the incredible wildlife this park has to offer. You will finish your day with an unforgettable dinner at your lodge and get some rest for the next day full of adventure.

Day 2

Morning Kayaking
One of the most captivating activities in Tortuguero National Park is kayaking through its extensive network of freshwater canals. As you paddle quietly through the serene waters, you'll be immersed in the rich biodiversity that defines this unique ecosystem that most people are not able to experience as these canals are made for paddle boats only.
After a great morning in the park you will be happy to enjoy a delicious breakfast and change your kayaking sandals for hiking shoes and visit the Cerro Tortuguero, for those seeking a more terrestrial adventure, hiking Cerro Tortuguero is a must. This ancient volcanic hill is the highest point in the park, rising to about 119 meters (390 feet) above sea level. The hike to the summit is a rewarding challenge, taking you through lush rainforest and offering glimpses of the diverse flora and fauna along the way.
Upon reaching the top, you'll be greeted with breathtaking panoramic views. From this vantage point, you can see the intricate maze of canals and the vast expanse of the Caribbean Sea. On clear days, the view extends far into the horizon, offering a unique perspective on the park's diverse landscapes.

Turtle Season
From July to October thousands of female Sea Turtles make their way back to their birthplace to lay their precious eggs, a phenomenon that has been occurring for thousands of years.As the turtles dig their nest and lay their eggs under the cover of darkness, travelers from around the world led by a local expert gather to witness this incredible spectacle.
Guided tours led experts naturalist and park rangers allow visitors to observe the turtles up close, learning about the intricacies of their nesting habits and the delicate relationship between these incredible creatures and their environment, it`s truly unforgettable experience.

Day three is to enjoy the last bit of time of this fantastic and unique jungle paradise.
